Recognition highlights the airport’s owner and operator, Toronto Port Authority’s commitment to talent development, training, and building a future-ready aviation workforce.

The Toronto Port Authority is pleased to announce that Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport has received the Airports Council International North America (ACI-NA) Airport Workforce Development Accreditation Level 2 – Nurturing Talent, in recognition of the Toronto Port Authority’s internal training programs and workforce development practices. The recognition was confirmed yesterday in Salt Lake City, Utah at the ACI-NA 2026 Business of Airports Conference.

The ACI-NA Airport Workforce Development Accreditation is a first-of-its-kind industry program that recognizes airports and aviation organizations for their commitment to attracting, developing, and retaining talent within the aviation industry.

The accreditation framework recognizes organizations that demonstrate excellence in workforce planning, employee development, career growth opportunities, community engagement, and partnerships that help build a sustainable talent pipeline.

“This achievement reflects our continued commitment to investing in our people and fostering a culture of continuous learning,” said Kelly McDonald, Senior Director, Human Resources “By building a skilled, inclusive, and future-ready workforce, we are strengthening not only our organization, but also the broader aviation industry.”

The Toronto Port Authority continues to prioritize initiatives that support employee growth, enhance workplace engagement, and prepare its workforce to meet the evolving demands of the aviation sector.
